LFW: DAKS

DAKS presented a very dark and mysterious collection which reminded of a Victorian-inspired gothic romance. Designer Filippo Scuffi created sleek silhouettes with a colour palette consisting in many shades, tones and reflections of black and finished the look with low buns on each model’s head. Notable was also the variety of fabrics including wool velvet, silk moiré, silk velvet and heavy ottoman fabrics but also lighter variants such as chiffon and georgette. The lace and ribbon redolent that reminded of the Victorian era, revealed a powerful feminine appeal, partly strengthened by the structured shoulders in jackets and coats that also offered stability to the collection. The checkered patterns in some of the dresses, trousers and coats in combination with the black hats, gave a country touch to the collection.
